I don’t want to turn this into a hair blog but I’ve trying so many new hair products like it’s no one’s business! I feel like lately I have been taking better care of hair than my face as I’ve spiraled in a phase where I get annoyed with my skincare and just do the bare minimum to keep my skin clear and hydrated.

I’ve review other Hempz products in the past and have really been enjoying them. I’ve recently got their Blushing Grapefruit and Raspberry Cream shampoo and conditioner and they have been lying around for a couple of weeks but I’ve recently done Balayage on my hair and it seemed the perfect opportunity to try these as they are formulated for color-treated hair.

The packaging is almost perfect for me (I prefer pump bottles) but when a pump is not available I like these type of tubes as I like the product to slide down as I use it and I don’t have to keep shaking the bottle and turn it upside down (first world problems right?)

The shampoo is a no-SLS formula that protects the color while gently cleansing the scalp, I say scalp because I have been avoiding shampoo in my mid-lenghts to ends since I colored my hair and have noticed a remarkable different on how less frizzy and softer my hair is. I wash my scalp normally and then run the foam through the lengths while I rinse and move straight to mask/conditioner.

As for the conditioner, it has a thick creamy texture and it leaves my hair soft and detangled and not heavy. It promises to extend the color but this was the first time I colored my hair so I’m not really sure how long the color should last.

Overall I really like this range but I don’t usually expect much from a shampoo and conditioner, as long as the shampoo doesn’t irritate my scalp and the conditioner leaves my hair soft I’m happy 🙂
