REVIEW Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I’m not to keen on micellar waters, for whatever reason I didn’t get the hype. Maybe it’s because my skin is a bit dehydrated and I always prefer oil or milky make-up removers to remove my make-up. Also I can’t stand the idea of only using this to cleanse my skin. I always always double cleanse, always had, always will. I’ve tried using only this to remove makeup and cleanse, followed with my skincare routine, next morning I was full of breakouts and clogged pores. I need a proper cleanse every night. “You get what you pay for” and don’t expect great skin when you cleanse it only with micellar water.

For the first time, Garnier introduces the Micellar technology in an all-in-one cleanser.
Like a magnet, the cleansing agents capture and lift away dirt from the skin.
No need to rub to remove impurities and make-up.
Perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without rubbing or rinsing.
Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water has a soothing and fragrance free
formula that suits all skin types, even sensitive.
That being said, you ask: why and when do you use micellar water?
Well sometimes I’m really tired when I get home after work and don’t really want to spend the next 5 minutes massaging my face with oil so I remove my makeup with this as it’s easier and quicker, but I always follow with a proper cleanse afterwords, either with a cleansing balm or non-stripping face wash as I think that this water leaves my skin a bit more dehydrated that it normally is. After cleansing my face with a balm and a cloth I realized why this product broke me out, it doesn’t remove makeup properly. It removes most of it but certainly not all of it, as my cloth still comes out with traces of makeup. So although this is a great product to remove the “core” of your makeup please do not rely on it to cleanse your face because it won’t. Do the test and with your toner after cleansing with this and then let me know how the cotton comes out. And don’t use your toner to help finish your cleanse because that is not what a toner is supposed to do.If you use this product to remove eye makeup, please do not rub your eyes as it will make them puffy the next morning. Really put a lot of water into a cotton pad and gently press it against your eyes for a few minutes, the water is supposed to work as a magnet and attract your makeup out of your skin. If it takes more time? Yes it does, but if you spend  45 minutes putting on your makeup, why should you take any less time to properly cleanse and taking care of your skin afterwards?

What are your thoughts on this product? Have you used it before? You can find it on Boots – and on Feelunique –
