Current Hair Styling Go-To’s

I feel like I’ve been posting a lot about hair recently but I’ve really gotten into hair products and have found so many things I need to share with you guys. Who knew that there was more to haircare than shampoo, conditioner and an old can of Elnett?? I certainly didn’t. I’ve reviewed a couple of hair treatments HERE and HERE and now it’s time for some styling faves.

If regular alcohol based hairsprays don’t strike your fancy then this Less is More Thyme Lacque ¦ £26 here is just perfect for you. It’s a propellant free hairspray that delivers the perfect hold to any up-do while giving an insane amount of shine. It smells delicious and it doesn’t leave the hair crispy or sticked together. You can easily brush it off at the end of the day and apply it again in the morning without washing your hair and it won’t weight the hair down or make it look dirty. The best part? Less is more is a green beauty brand that keeps away all harmful and toxic ingredients. This was the first product I tried from them but there’s a couple more that I really want to try (Rose Serum, Scalp Relief Shampoo and Conditioner I’m looking at ya’)

Insight is also a new discovery for me and I got this Oil Non Oil ¦ here a couple of months ago at Pro Beauty. It’s a lightweight serum which I apply after my leave-in conditioner before blow-drying. I usually apply this only on the top of my head where I tend to get frizzy, it doesn’t weight my hair down and it keeps it freeze-free and straight until I wash again. Insight is a natural brand as well, and their products have no silicone, no sulphates, no mineral oils, no parabens, etc. I have a few more things from them which I will review soon(ish).

The Macadamia Healing Oil Spray ¦ £19.80 here has been a favorite for years. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve repurchased this; my current bottle is almost empty and I’m debating whether I should repurchase again or try something new. I use it almost every day, just a few spritzes just at ends, I haven’t had split ends for years and I truly believe it’s because of this product. It’s a very (and I mean very) lightweight oil, it smells delicious, it doesn’t weight the hair down (do you see a trend here) and it’s suitable for every day even if you have fine hair.

If like my you have baby hair coming out from the edges of your hair that even the fiercest of hairsprays can’t tame then you NEED something like the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Edge Control Smoother ¦ £22.95 here which is essentially an upgraded version a good ole’  hair pomade. It can be used as an edge smoother and flyaway controller, or instead of a hair gel/spray to keep ponytails in place. It has quite a sticky texture and less is definitely more with this product as it can get a little heavy but you can easily brush it off at the end of the day and the hair will still be fine the next day without washing. It’s very moisturizing and it gives an insane amount of shine. If you can get it from the states as it costs a mere $8 instead of the ridiculous £22 from amazon UK.
